An Evening with Melissa Weiss: Cup Carving Class to Benefit Raices
In this class we will employ the "kurinuki" method to carve a cup out of a solid ball of clay. Materials will be provided. No prior clay experience necessary. Students will complete a cup from start to finish and pick it up at a later date glazed and fired. Your cup will be a one of a kind, fully functional piece.

Two-Day Workshop with Heather Ossandon: Designing for the Table
Supermud alum, Heather Ossandon, will be sharing her latest techniques in throwing and decorating pottery. Throughout this informative and hands-on workshop, Heather will demonstrate throwing functional forms on the wheel including cups, bowls, plates, pitchers, lidded forms, vases, and of course, a teapot or two. Further demonstrations will go step by step in creating unique ceramic forms for specific foods and drinks. The focus will be on principles of design, form and function, as well as showing technical tricks on the wheel.

Coming with 10+ years of experience, Californian artist and San Diego Potters' Guild member, Evan Lopez will be visiting Supermud to demonstrate essential pottery techniques by combining wheel throwing and hand-building skills. This is a great opportunity for those looking watch and learn how to add compelling alterations and stylized accents to thrown forms!
