Introductory Workshop

 

Experience the thrill of throwing on the wheel.  Instructions in basic throwing techniques with hands-on assistance.    

-  Cost: $75 for one time class

Clay and tools. Pieces created during the workshop will NOT be saved.

Beginner Class

 

The fundamentals of clay properties and techniques used in wheel throwing and hand building. Projects range from bowls, mugs, boxes, tiles and other beginner projects. Basic decoration including glazing, various carving and surface texture techniques are also covered. 

 

-  Cost: 10 weeks $600  

-  Schedule: Meets once a week for 2 hours  

-  Includes:

Clay, one storage shelf and one free 3hr open studio session per week.  Firing fees will apply. See Studio Guideline

All Levels Class 

 

Suitable for experienced & beginner students. 

 

Experienced students will move forward with advanced techniques on the wheel and  add to their vocabulary of surface decoration techniques. Projects may include tea pots, pitchers, plates, sgraffito, mishima and more.

 

Beginners focus on the fundamentals of clay properties and techniques used in wheel throwing and hand building. Projects will range from bowls, mugs, boxes, tiles and other beginner projects. Basic decoration including glazing, various carving and surface texture techniques are also covered.  Beginners are welcome!

Financial Aid

 

A work-exchange program is offered each semester where students
trade work for tuition. Students may apply for these positions during registration.
