We are offering a series of 2 part, hands-on workshops focusing on a variety of techniques & objects

 

Price: $120 per workshop. 

Schedule: 2 classes.  Meets once a week for 2 hours  

Includes: Clay & one free 3hr open studio session per week

WHEEL THROWN TEAPOT

with Marge Lurie & Scottie Twine

Tuesdays, November 23 and 30, 1-3pm 

 

Learn how to make all the elements you need to create your own teapot!  Marge and Scottie will show you spout, handle and lid construction, and will discuss form, function and aesthetic choices, as they relate to all parts of ceramic teapots.

Basic wheel throwing skills required.

SCULPTING FACES

with Lea Cook

Tuesdays, November 23 and 30, 7-9pm 

​

More In this class you will learn basic techniques of sculpting while making fun and expressive faces. Lea will demonstrate pinching; modeling; how to add parts to your project; and ways to create interesting surface textures. She will also discuss using alteration and exaggeration to convey attitude and emotion in your work.  

All levels. No experience required.

SLAB BUILT WALL VASES

with Sam Neary

Thursdays, December 2 & 9, 4-6pm

No room for pottery in your home? In this class you will learn how to make pots that can hang on your walls!  Sam will demonstrate the basics of building with slabs; how make vases that hang, and will show you a variety of shapes for functional wall vases that look great with or without plants.

All levels. No experience required.

HAND BUILDING WITH COILS

with Lily Ferguson

Fridays, December 3 & 10, 1-3pm​

Coil building is a simple, and relaxing technique that allows you to hand-form any shape you like. In this class, Lily will teach you the basics of coil-building, and will talk about some classic and  not-so-classic forms for vases. You will start coiling with confidence, and come away with a new vase - for yourself, or to give as a gift. 

All levels.  No experience required.
